#Zapier and Make

Ponch has apps for Zapier and Make. Both are built on this API: you connect them with an API key, and each trigger or action is one of the endpoints in these docs.

#Connecting

  1. Create an API key. Label it Zapier or Make so you know which key to revoke later.
  2. In Zapier or Make, add the Ponch app and paste the key when asked.

The connection is named after your company (from GET /integrations/me). One connection covers one company; for several companies, create a key and a connection for each.

If the connection later reports that Ponch rejected the key, the key was revoked or the plan no longer includes API access. See When a key is rejected.

#Triggers

Triggers use webhooks. Turning on a Zap, or creating the webhook in a Make watch module, creates a webhook in Ponch. It's listed under Integrations → Webhooks with a Zapier or Make badge. Turning off or deleting the Zap, or deleting the Make webhook, removes it.

Zapier Make Event
New Enrollment Watch Enrollments customer.enrolled
New Stamp Watch Stamps stamp.added
Reward Earned Watch Rewards Earned reward.earned
Reward Redeemed Watch Rewards Redeemed reward.redeemed
Card Deactivated Watch Cards Deactivated card.voided

In Make, switching a scenario off doesn't remove its webhook in Ponch; only deleting the webhook in Make does.

#Actions and searches

Zapier Make Endpoint
Add Stamp Add Stamp POST /stamping/stamp
Redeem Reward Redeem Reward POST /stamping/redeem
Set Stamp Count Set Stamp Count POST /stamping/set-count
Get Enrollment Link Get Enrollment Link GET /cards/{slug}/enrollment-url
Find Card by Barcode Find Card by Barcode POST /stamping/lookup (Zapier), GET /integrations/cards/search (Make)
Find Customer Find Customer GET /integrations/customers/search
List Stores GET /stores/
List Stamp Cards GET /integrations/templates
Make an API Call Any endpoint in these docs, with your connection's key

The two apps use different endpoints for Find Card because Make treats any 4xx response as an error that stops the scenario. Make's module uses the search endpoint, which returns an empty list instead of 404, so "no such card" is zero results rather than a failure.

#Avoiding double stamps and double redemptions

Zapier and Make both retry steps that time out. Fill in the Idempotency Key field on Add Stamp, Redeem Reward and Set Stamp Count with something unique to the triggering event, such as an order ID from the step before. Then a retry can't stamp or redeem twice. See Idempotency.
